“SOUNDSEKERTA 2019: MOSAIC OF THE NATION”
This year’s SOUNDSEKERTA will be held on the 28th of September 2019 and is themed: MOSAIC OF THE NATION. This theme aims to bring the many musical backgrounds and genre that Indonesian artists has to offer to the audience. We want to introduce artists that has different sounds from one another yet has their own individual journeys.
Many of you may be wondering, with the outstanding artists we had last year, who might be the line up for this year’s concert? Well we are happy to announce that this year, SOUNDSEKERTA 2019 will be joined by Indonesian artists; Yura Yunita, Tompi and lastly RAN. Curious to find out about our artists? Yunita Rachman, or better known with her stage name as Yura Yunita is a 28 years old soloist who had recently made her mark in the Indonesian music industry. Yura had managed to snatch the Best Female Soloist or the Penyanyi Wanita Terbaik for two years in a row with her hit song Intuisi in 2017 and Harus Bahagia in 2018. Yura had her hit fame with Cinta dan Rahasia that was made with Glenn Fredley, over the years Yura Yunita has also collaborated with many other Indonesian artists such as Reza Rahardian and our other guest star RAN. With a brand of sound that incorporates different genres such as Pop, Soul and Jazz the name Yura Yunita brings fierce competition in the Indonesian music industry. With her new released song Merakit, don’t forget to anticipate this soulful voice in our concert!
Next in our line-up is the legendary Jazz artist Tompi. Born as Teuku Adifitrian, known as Tompi is an Indonesian Jazz singer who has had a long discography in the music industry. Growing up, Tompi was originally set to be a doctor when he took up music as a hobby during his university years and started pursuing it as a career alongside his medical career. Tompi has been part of many legendary groups including Cherokee and the famous Trio Lestari. Trio Lestari is a Jazz musical group that was formed in 2013 which included not only Tompi but two other superb singers; Glenn Fredley and Sandhy Sondoro. Tompi himself has been in the music industry for more than 7 years and continuously producing hit songs such as Menghujam Jantungku and Tak Pernah Setengah Hati. Don’t miss out the chance to watch this legendary Jazz singer in this year’s SOUNDSEKERTA.
Lastly, returning for a second time to SOUNDSEKERTA by popular demand is none other than the leading band that is dominating the music charts, RAN. RAN is band that consists of three members: Rayi, Asta and Nino which in short becomes their band name, RAN. Their first debut album was released back in 2007 with the hit song Pandangan Pertama. Although they have been in the industry for a long time, their fame and popularity had kick off with their most popular song Dekat di Hati which won them the title Hits of the Year by Rolling Stone in 2017. Not only that but RAN has dominated the charts with other popular songs such as Salamku Untuk Kekasihmu Yang Baru and Selamat Pagi. Their most recent release is a live remake of their best songs, but why listen to them sing live from the web when you can hear them live in SOUNDSEKERTA.
