The tagline for ASEAN Games Australia 2014 is “Embrace Diversity, Celebrate Victory” announced by the Project Director, Sheh Tyne Yeo during the official launch of the sports registration on 30th July 2014. “We encourage people from ASEAN member states to gather together and participate in this sports event to bring out their passion in sports together as one. Though we may come from different countries, we still share the same drive to excel in the sports we are passionate about”, explained by Sheh Tyne Yeo, who is also the MSports Director of MASCA Victoria.
Through ASEAN Games Australia 2014, we hope to foster unity among all ASEAN communities in Australia while fulfilling the Games’ aim of forming a community that engages in healthy activities. We encourage participants to step out of their comfort zone, as this is a great way to strengthen the relationship between the ASEAN community in Australia, especially amongst university students.
We always strive to offer the best experiences to our participants by providing the best competition venue for each sport and giving back to sports participants. This year, more than $3,500 cash prizes will be rewarded to the winners of each game and each participant will stand a chance to win various vouchers proudly supported by our generous sponsors.
This annual event is open to everyone from ASEAN countries in Australia. The Association of South East Nations comprises of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam. “The committee has put in various efforts to increase the awareness for this sports event for students and non-students across Australia.
